Abstract

The paper presents my personal perspective on a holistic treatment, integrating different tools and approaches, for the needs of contemporary man, who is exposed to high levels of daily stress, who is detached from the body, and whose mind is fragmented and preoccupied. I demonstrates the benefits of mostly body-oriented methods and mobile applications for our health, well-being and therapeutic process. Methods are divided into three layers, first to those that can help us reconnect with the body, followed by those that cultivate our heart and at last there is the level which integrates mental constructs of polarities. Using examples of good practice it is illustrates how such techniques, methods and theories can be integrated into a holistic multimodal therapeutic approach. These techniques and methods can also be used in a complementary process, supporting and accelerating the objectives of therapy, or for the personal development of therapists. Furthermore it outlines a comparative systemic impact of selected methods and techniques and describes in more depth the neurological findings, connecting them to theories of consciousness. It also raises the question of whether integrating methods and theories is the next step in the development of psychotherapy that goes beyond the division into modalities.
