Personality in reality therapy
Keywords:
entity, choice theory, reality therapy, control, responsibilityAbstract
The author of Reality Therapy and Choice Therapy does not see the construct of personality as an internal ‘entity’ with causal role of behaviour with genuine explanatory power. For him it is a secondary factor inferred on the basis of the consistency of behaviour – while other processes play the critical causal roles and dictating the behaviour – and, hence, it has little explanatory power in Choice Theory. In the article I describe the concept of the personality in the Choice Theory and/or Reality Therapy and some speciality of this concept.
