Metasupervision is a relatively unexplored field, so the present work represents an important contribution to its understanding. Within social care in Slovenia, we have eight metasupervisors approved by the Social Chamber of Slovenia, who perform their work acording to various models and methods, which have not yet been the subject of scientific analysis. For the purpose of this qualitative research, the metasupervisors shared their metasupervision programmes. The research question was aimed at examining the common themes of metasupervision programmes and exploring possible similarities between such common themes and the generic supervision model. Data analysis was done by thematic analysis, a thematic network of common themes and sub-themes was formed. The interpretation provides an insight into the assimilative integration of various metasupervision models, the importance of relationship, process and reflection in metasupervision. A comparison of the results with the generic supervision model revealed a number of similarities. Limitations of the research are given and also proposals for further research especially in the direction of a deeper insight into the current implementation of metasupervision in Slovenia and the development of an empirical basis for establishing a generic metasupervision model.
